Upcoming Smartphones in 2019

Since the start of 2019, we have witnessed many great smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, Oppo Reno Hybrid Zoom, Realme X, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7 and the recently launched Redmi K20 Pro. And while we have almost another half of 2019 still to go, many smartphones are yet to be launched. Let's look at the new smartphones of 2019.

Google Pixel 4

One of the most anticipated smartphones yet to be launched is the Google Pixel 4. While the device is expected to come with the same frosted, silky finish as seen in the Pixel 3, the Google Pixel 4 is expected to come with a square camera module similar to the one in Huawei Mate 20 Pro or in the upcoming Apple iPhone 11. The front camera is also expected to come with an additional lens to support faster face unlock. Google could also include ‘Project Soli’ technology in the front cameras which will allow users to navigate the screen and user interface by waving hands in front of the screen. If rolled out, this will be one of its navigation experience in a smartphone.

The smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will run on Android Q.

The 2019 iPhone’s will come in the same screen size as of the last year’s, however, the flagship model is expected to sport a triple rear camera system consisting of a standard wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens. There could be a 6.4-inch iPhone 11, a 5.8-inch iPhone 11 which will be iPhone XS successor and a 6.1-inch XR (2019). Apple is also reported to bring underwater photography technology, which will allow iPhone 11 camera to automatically adjust the camera settings when the iPhone is underwater to allow for better pictures. At the front, there will be a 12MP front camera instead of a 7MP sensor with a new 5P lens rather than a 4P lens.

The 2019 Motorola Razr will mark the return of the iconic Razr phone but will come in its own style as it will be foldable. The Motorola Razr foldable smartphone will have a 6.2-inch OLED folding screen as a primary display. When folded, the Razr will transform into a 600×800-pixel secondary display. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC with eight CPU cores built on Qualcomm’s custom Kryo 360 architecture.

The Galaxy Note 10 will be officially launched on August 8 in New York. Samsung for the first time will launch two models for the Note 10 – one standard Galaxy Note 10 and the other Note 10 Pro. The Galaxy Note 10 is expected to come with a 6.28-inches 2K AMOLED screen, on the other hand, the Galaxy Note 10 Pro will be slightly bigger at 6.75-inches. There will be a triple rear camera setup at the back -- 12MP+12MP+12MP triple rear cameras, wherein one of the lenses will be an ultra-wide. The smartphone will be powered by the Exynos 9820 processor paired up with 12GB of RAM.

The Vivo Z5x is expected to launch under Rs 20,000 and will be available in two RAM configurations 4GB and 6GB. The smartphone is already launched in China. The smartphone will have a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. The Vivo Z5X will come with a triple rear camera setup -- 16MP, 8MP, and 2MP sensors. There is a 16MP camera for selfies.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is the first foldable smartphone from the South Korean giant, which will offer users a new way to multitask, play games and watch videos. You will be able to open up to three active apps simultaneously on the main display. The smartphone is powered by the next-generation AP chipset clubbed with 12GB of RAM. For mobile photography, the Galaxy Fold has a 10MP selfie camera with an f2.2 aperture at the cover. At the rear, there is a triple camera setup consisting of an f2.2 16MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera with super-speed dual pixel AF, OIS, f1.5/f2.4 and a 12MP telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, f2.4, 2X optical zoom. At the front, there is a dual-camera setup consisting of a 10MP main camera with an6 f2.2 and an 8MP RGB depth camera with f1.9 aperture.
