PCQ Bureau
New Update

Free Network Automated Testing System comes with a slew of features such as

Web Size, Web Time, MySQL Rows and MySQL Time. This is in addition to the

regular network monitoring features such as Ping, IMAP/SMTP monitoring, TCP port

monitoring and DNS Lookup. It can alert users of anomalies through email and SMS.

FreeNATS is available in two versions: as a PHP source and as a virtual

appliance. Let's look at its virtual appliance that can be downloaded from

www.purplepixie. org/freenats/download.php. Open the virtual appliance using a

VMware player. Open a browser and type the IP address shown on the FreeNATS

console. This will open FreeNATS web interface. Login with Admin as username and

password. Here we show how you could create a Web Size monitor which returns

time taken by a web server to respond.
