ACT!2000 lets you manage your relationships outside your company. You can maintain your contact lists and manage them as groups that you define. You can have different users, using diferent login names, access ACT! on the same PC. For each contact, you can assign notes and activities involving multiple program users. What’s extremely useful for the sales team is a Sales/Opportunity feature, which tracks new sales opportunities, the number of sales efforts won or lost, and so on. You can also generate reports based on the various aspects like sales, history, and contacts.
You can quickly schedule meetings, assign reminders for calls, and create to-do lists. Even if ACT! isn’t open, and you want to jot down tasks, you can call its sidekick (called SideACT! 2000) from the system tray, and then copy or move this information to ACT! when required.
ACT! is optimized for Outlook, but works with Outlook Express and Eudora also. You can write letters from within ACT–the format comes up complete with name and address already in. You can mail merge the letter to the contact you want, print it, fax it using WinFAX Pro or MS Fax, or e-mail it. You can import your existing database of contacts into ACT!. Price: Rs 6,500.
