Our company's core operations involve corporate technical training. Our
workforce is divided into two sets of people — ones that manage the training
business, who are usually on-the-move and work outside with our customers and
with the co-ordinators who are stationed at their offices. We receive around
20-25 training requests in a day. Though our training templates are in place,
each company requires a certain amount of personalization, which we take care
of. In other words, we need to personalize standard documents. The Home Group
feature of Windows 7 helps us to share these standard documents across employees
and personalize them at will. We have offices in multiple locations like
Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai and each office houses around 10-12 employees
who administer the training programs. They now get to operate with the same
templates and share it among themselves. This feature led to an operational
efficiency increase of 30-40%. We were previously operating on XP and
subsequently on Vista, but we never had this feature.
