Amazon India (Amazon.in) has begin its quest to attain a large consumer base in India by introducing the availability of a promised ‘One-Day Delivery' service for any products/items bought via Amazon.in.
The One day delivery offer can be availed by consumers buying from Amazon.in by paying an extra Rs 99 to their total product cost with no specific minimum order value. Interestingly, Amazon has decided to start with the service in select pin codes across several Indian cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune. Amazon has also informed that customers in Mumbai and Pune only can place late orders up to midnight and receive it the next day, while for other areas the cut-off time is 3.00 pm as of now.
Amazon's delivery process for ‘One-Day Delivery' service is applicable foe business days only and excludes orders made in and around Sunday or any public holiday. To gain consumer trust Amazon has promised to offer refund for shipping charges if orders are not received as per their commitment.
Off late, Amazon has been pro-active with its online-shopping efforts in the country and engaging in an aggressive manner with the consumers and looking to compete with majors like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Homeshop 18 among others.
