New chipsets from US-based chipmaker AMD will power forthcoming mobile gaming consoles. The Ryzen Z1 series of these new chipsets, according to the manufacturer, will provide high performance.

The Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipsets are part of the most recent range. Both chipsets, according to AMD, will provide uncompromising battery life and industry-leading gaming experiences.

Both chipsets  also have graphics based on AMD's RDNA 3 architecture. The company  partnered with Asus to launch the first device with the Ryzen Z1 series chipset. Expected to be a "premium portable console," the upcoming Asus ROG Ally will include models with both Ryzen Z1 and Z1 Extreme chipsets.

Jason Banta, AMD's vice president and director of customer OEM, said: "At AMD, we are constantly developing next-generation gaming experiences from consoles to desktops to laptops on the go. Ryzen Z1 processors provide gamers with a cutting-edge gaming experience and extreme portability for exciting gaming formats. "

 AMD Ryzen Z1 Series Chipsets: Key Features

AMD's latest Ryzen Z1 series chipsets have up to 8 cores and 16 threads for enhanced visuals. These chipsets  also feature the company's Zen 4 architecture to improve performance and battery life.

The company claims that these new platforms will help mobile computers deliver "a truly portable and powerful gaming experience."

The Ryzen Z1 series chipsets also have integrated graphics based on AMD's RDNA 3 architecture.

Users can also optimize their games with AMD software: Adrenalin Edition, which includes features such as AMD Radeon Super Resolution, Radeon Chill, Radeon Image Sharpening, AMD Link and more.

AMD Ryzen Z1 Series Chipsets: Availability

As mentioned above, the Asus ROG Ally is the first gaming laptop to feature an AMD Ryzen Z1 chipset. Asus is expected to share more information about the availability and price of the upcoming wearable on May 11.
