In our shootouts, normally, we work
out a combination of price, performance, and features, and announce a
winner. This time, we have done it differently. Instead of an
all-encompassing result, we drew out three possible scenarios:
- Where you want the best performance and features that money can buy.
- Where you are more sensitive to price.
- Where you don’t care as much about the features as you do for
performance and price.
And we have a winner for each of these. Thus, we have three Editor’s
Choice awards this time.
The best performance and features
that money can buy: Compaq Deskpro EP Pentium III
The best buy on a budget: VAT 2000 Celeron Multimedia
The best price-performance: HP Brio PII
Do write and tell us whether you prefer this system of drawing up
alternate scenarios, or would you rather have a single-scenario with one
winner.
