This is the highest ranking sub-300 VA UPS, and also
the highest ranking one from APC. The Back-UPS Pro 280 has designer looks with a single
recessed push button switch on the front panel surrounded by four LEDs. The back panel has
four outlets, which is overkill considering its rating. An RS 232 port is provided for
software control. Two RJ11 sockets are provided for telephone line in line out to remotely
control the UPS through a modem!

The Back-UPS Pro 280 logged a good switch over time
with a five minutes backup time. In the short circuit test, it tripped, and was restored
to normal via an on-off.
