New Update

As a growing organisation, data growth is exponential in Apollo Tyres. They

are also expanding their business globally and that necessitates an ERP solution

at new locations. And all these expansions are simultaneously taking place.

Every rollout requires a separate testing system. And since the data volume in

the size of 2TB, it is practically too expensive to create multiple systems with

2TB each. Hence in discussions with SAP, the TDMS tool Implementation was

finalised. With the TDMS implementation, the test systems can be created with

limited period data without forgoing any fucntionality and data consistency. The

company is using SAP for its Business transactions since 2004 and more than 40

GB of data is generated every month with a total database of 2TB. TDMS is a new

package from SAP that envisages a capability of transferring data for a

pre-defined period from a Live production system. For a test environment, it is

required to have data of a year with all the relevant links and masters. TDMS

does the same without any inconsistency of data. With this implementation,

Apollo Tyres can ensure availability of data for the testing environment. The

Project has resulted in huge savings in storage for Apollo Tyres. Now each test

requires 300 GB space as compared to 2TB earlier.
