New Update

A large share of Apollo's raw material purchase is from the International

market and to track the shipment & its documentation is a big challenge. Apollo

Purchase team wanted to meet this challenge by strengthening the process and

automating it so that all involved parties (eg raw material suppliers, clearing

house agents, Apollo purchase team, manufacturing team at a plant) can share and

exchange information online and thereby ensure smooth material imports. Raw

Material Imports system was conceptualized & implemented to meet the above

challenge. RMI starts from the time purchase order is raised in SAP and goes

till the GRN (goods received at plant) process at plant is completed. It also

includes key sub processes like license management, custom duty computation &

filing, bonded warehouse management, movement of raw material from port to plant

and storing of documents and several work flow such as advance requisition,

custom duty approvals and bill of entry filing at bank / RBI.

The key features of project are: interface with SAP, Domino for fetching and

sending data, web based access, custom duty computation, workflow for accounting

of extra port expenses, bonded ware house management including creation of bond

and ex-bonding documents and license management.
