With iPhone 4, Apple will be able to re-enter the sub Rs 25,000 price point in the Indian market which was left untouched by the company after it decided to discontinue the iPhone 4 model across the globe.

But it seems Apple has made the call to bring the model back only for India it seems which resulted in over 400% growth for the company in the market.

According to CMR's data, Apple's market share in the Indian smartphone market peaked to more than 4% in October-December 2012 and January-March 2013 during which iPhone 4 was made available to consumers via EMI and buyback offers. Interestingly, since discontinuing with the model, the figures tumbled to 1.4% in October 2013, from which Samsung was the big benefactor.

It remains to be seen how the company's distributors, namely; Redington and Ingram Micro decide to source the units and it is largely believed that they will be available across shelves by end of this month, starting with the Republic Day holiday sales.
