According to Bloomberg, the Smartphone giant has recorded a drop in sales. It sold less than a million iPhones in the first 6 months of 2018.

Further to make things worse, Apple has lost three key sales executives in the country. It plans to streamline its sales operations in India to improve its market share.

A research from Counterpoint showed that at present, Apple holds 2 per cent share in the Indian market. Though, it had a 2.5 per cent share in December 2017. This has helped the Asian brands to take-over the maximum share of the Smartphone market in India. Moreover, iPhones are expensive due to import duty and high tariffs, which is why consumers shift to other cheaper brands.

Furthermore, according to CyberMedia Research also, the sale of Apple iPhones were less than 1 million for the first five months of 2018.  Shipments of Apple witnessed a decline of 30 per cent in the first five months of 2018 (Jan-May18) when compared to sales of the first five months of 2017 (Jan-May17).
