Apple Watch Series 9 was unveiled during the company's recent 'Wonderlust' event, with the iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Watch Series 9 was produced in 41mm and 45mm display screen sizes, with the company claiming it was the first carbon-neutral device. It is the successor to last year's Apple Watch Series 8, which debuted during the company's 'Far Out' presentation. The wearables are similar in terms of design. Regarding specifications, however, the Watch Series 9 has seen substantial enhancements over the Watch Series 8.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is available in two display sizes — 41mm and 45mm — and is made of aluminium or stainless steel. The 41mm dial size wearable is priced at Rs. 41,900 in aluminium finish. On the other hand, the stainless steel body for the same dial size costs Rs. 70,900.

The stainless steel body finish costs Rs. 75,900 for a 45mm display, while the aluminium finish costs Rs. 44,900. The Watch Series 9 aluminium body is available in Midnight, Pink, (Product) Red, Starlight, and Silver colour variations, while the stainless steel style is available in Gold, Graphite, and Silver.

On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 8 GPS was sold in India at a starting price of Rs. 45,900, while the Apple Watch Series 8 Cellular cost Rs. 55,900. It was also available in 41mm and 45mm case sizes, with colour options including Gold, Graphite, Midnight, Red, Silver, and Starlight.

The Apple Watch Series 8 was released last year with GPS and cellular capabilities. It runs on a S8 SiP with a 64-bit dual-core processor, a W3 wireless chip, and a first-generation Ultra Wideband chip. In the meantime, the Apple Watch Series 9 is said to be 60% faster than its predecessor. It has the latest Apple S9 SiP technology and a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip.

Both smartwatches feature an Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display with a brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Regarding battery life, the Watch Series 8 and 9 have up to 18 hours, which can be improved to 36 hours when using the low-power mode.

The Watch Series 9 includes a "Double Tap" gesture that allows users to perform various functions, such as answering or ending a call, stopping a timer, or snoozing an alarm. It is also compatible with HomePod. In addition to cycling and hiking functions, new watch faces, and mental health support 2, the smartwatch improves on the Watch Series 8's SpO2 tracking, heart rate monitoring, atrial fibrillation (AFib) diagnosis, and ECG monitoring.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is powered by watchOS 10, whereas the Apple Watch Series 8 debuted with watchOS 9. The current model has 64GB of storage, while the Watch Series 8 has 32GB.
