Apple intends to release low-cost MacBook models in 2024 to strengthen its market position and encourage more consumers to purchase MacBooks next year. According to reports, Apple will release new MacBooks in 12-inch and 13-inch sizes, but we’re sure everyone is curious about the potential ‘cheap’ price tag on these speculated Macs.
Price of new MacBooks: Budget-Friendly MacBooks
It appears that Apple intends to sell new MacBooks for around $700 (approximately Rs 56,800), bringing the starting price significantly above that of the current MacBook lineup. Apple sees the need for a MacBook series that sits below the MacBook Air and Pro models, which are no longer accessible to most consumers.
The new Macs will compete with Google in the Chromebook category, which appears to be a bold move given that the latter is priced far under $300 in most areas. Another rationale for introducing low-cost MacBooks could be a reduction in demand for iPads, particularly in the education industry, where Apple sees an opportunity to market these new Macs and help strengthen its revenue stream. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may aim to supply approximately 10 million of these MacBooks per year.
A business strategy: MacBooks
When you hear the plan behind these MacBooks, it does sound like a business strategy that might help Apple offset the revenue decrease from iPads while also targeting a new segment that needs a Chromebook alternative. Suppose Apple can sell these MacBooks for less than Rs 60,000 in areas like India. In that case, the corporation may seriously undermine the market share of famous companies such as HP, Dell, Lenovo, and others. The holiday sales show how the perfect pricing for a MacBook can draw thousands of people to the nation to buy Macs.
It would not be easy to price the goods aggressively if they were imported, but even so, users would gladly upgrade to a MacBook, which has iPhone-like aspirational value for many. However, Apple must ensure that the low price tag is not deceiving and that the gadget is made with high-quality materials and features.
