This board is average on performance, but very high on features. It has four
USB, six PCI, one AMR, and even a TV/LCD port. Its layout is good, just like all
Asus boards, and all ports are built-in. The manual is also detailed and useful.
The board has DIP switches that can be used to configure it in jumperfree mode.
It also has an interesting collection of software, and the driver CD has a neat
interface, which makes it easy to install all the necessary drivers.
In performance, the motherboard did well in productivity applications,
3DMark2000, and VideoMark2000. These test the board’s overall performance and
graphics sub-system performance. In AudioWinbench, however, it gave an average
CPU utilization of 11.7, which was higher than most other motherboards in the
category. Quake III averaged a frame rate of 15.1 fps, which is good for an
entry-level board.
Overall the board is good in performance and features, but it lost a lot of
points in pricing.
