Asus has upgraded its ROG Strix Scar 17 PCs with the launch of the Special Edition (SE) in India, today. Taiwanese company's latest ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition comes with an aluminium lid, which features a new covert design overhaul. Additionally, all Strix SCAR 2022 staples are still present in the special edition, along with the high-resolution QHD 240Hz 3ms panel.
"The 2022 ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE has a design surprise in the form of a “specially developed invisible ink”. Traditional invisible ink wouldn’t stand the test of time when applied to the SCAR’s metal lid, " said the company.
Along with the use of liquid metal on both CPU and GPU, the Scar SE comes with a new Vapor Chamber that replaces the heat pipes. The new Vapour Chamber will improve heat dissipation as it covers up to 48.8% of the motherboard area, claims Asus.
The laptop’s 17.3-inch display offers a QHD 240Hz refresh rate panel with a response time of 3ms. The gaming laptop comes equipped with an Intel Core i9-12950HX processor, paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU with up to 175W max TGP. It features a PCIe Gen4x4 solid-state storage in a RAID 0 array.
As per Asus, the laptop’s keyboard switches are rated to last over 20 million presses. Plus, there is per-key RGB lighting for customising the look as you see fit. The 2022 ROG SCAR 17 SE utilises Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal on both the CPU and GPU. This thermal interface material can keep these components up to 15°C cooler than traditional thermal pastes, claims the laptop maker.
Further, the ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition features Dolby Atmos-powered quad speakers with two tweeters and two woofers powered by Smart Amp.
The ROG Strix Scar 17 SE starts at Rs 3,59,990 and can be purchased online from Asus e-shop, Amazon and Flipkart.
