New Update

Asus P5Q Deluxe embodies the new Intel P45 chipset. The motherboard supports

DDR2 memory featuring data transfer rates of 1200/1066/800/667 MHz. The board

has 6x SATA ports which support SATA RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. The board doesn't

support Wi-Fi. The gaming motherboard has 10 USB ports. The DDR2 4DIMM sockets

support up to 16 GB of system memory. The six SATA connectors on the ICH10R

Southbridge are a bit crammed. We tested the board with Intel Core 2 Extreme 3

GHz CPU, 120 GB SATA 7200 rpm HDD with 1 GB DDR2 with XP SP2. 3D Mark score was

14692, PC Mark score was 8367 while 69905 was the Pov-Ray score.

The board performed pretty well in comparison to Asus P5K3 Premium. BW score

was 48. Cinebench10 scores were 1CPU 3294 and 11640 xCPU. We used Nvidia 9800GT

to check gaming performance using UT3, Crysis and Company of Heroes which were

60 fps, 46 fps and 105 fps respectively, again better than P5K3 Premium.

P5Q Deluxe sports copper cooling system, similar to the P5E3 series of

boards. There are heatsinks over the Northbridge and Sourthbridge, and over the

baord's VRM, which are all linked together via a copper heat-pipe system

Bottomline : Keeping in mind the performance and the price, the board

is a good buy. However, it doesn't have WiFi. It also lacks DDR3 memory support.
