AVG has always provided one of the better free antiviruses, but a paid version is different because, users will just not compromise on their system’s security if they’ve paid for the software. The Internet Security 2014 has got antivirus,
antimalware, antiphishing, antispam, social networking protection and a website advisor. To provide extra layer of privacy and security, AVG IS has a File Shredder, Data Safe feature, AVG Do Not Track, Identity Protection and Firewall. Apart from all these features, parental control, cloud backup and system maintenance tool are some important elements missing from this suite.

Installation is hassle free and the home screen is also very neat and clean. The five tiles representing five different features of AVG are very prominent on the home screen. The performance of this security software was way below our expectations. It surprisingly completed the scanning of our 250 MB test folder containing 27,000 files in just 6 minutes. While one may think that is fast, it is actually not able to scan everything in the folder. Moreover, the memory it consumes is 35 MB, which is slightly on the higher side. In another test, AVG security was able to block only 4 of 8 EICAR test files. The dismal show continued in malicious website blockage test, where it blocked only 8/25 websites.
