At users end, you can login using DBabble client, or through its web interface. Dbabble also provides optional support for third party messengers like Yahoo, MSN, AOL and ICQ. DBabble supports standard IM features like offline messages, group messages, sending IM’s to e-mail, while you will also find storage quotas. It comes with 17 logs which provide message archiving, details of user actions etc. In DBabble you can authenticate users through its in-built authentication or using LDAP. DBabble client and server both support Windows, Linux,
Solaris and Mac OS.

Using DBabble
Once installed users can create their accounts through DBabble client or through its web interface. Through DBabble client, you can search for all users and add them to your buddy list, search forums, groups etc. To create a forum, on DBabble's main console, go to Discussions Groups, and click on Create New Discussion Group. A new window will appear. Provide a title for forum and an introduction about the forum. If you want forum to be a moderated one, check Moderated option. You can also choose if users can rate posts on the forums and whether new users can automatically subscribe to this forum. After fixing all this, you just need to click on Create Forum to create a new forum. Now to add members to this forum click on Add Members option in forms menu. Search for the members you want to add to the forum and add them, in the next step you can choose the rights available to users i.e. if user can post or not, can moderate posts and articles, can modify discussion etc. Now when a user logs through DBabble client to post messages, he has to go to discussions tab, and open the forum on which he wants to post. Now he can simply post messages or articles and read earlier posts etc.
