New Update

The main objective of the company ahead of the implementation was to change

the mindset of all the employees to adopt new processes. Before implementation

of this project, inefficient procedures resulted in revenue losses as there was

no forecasting or planning tools available. Plus, legacy system was not built to

support current business processes. To overcome these challenges, the company

deployed several business apps from Oracle. These included Oracle EBS ERP,

DeMantra Demand Management, and Advanced Supply Chain planning solution. Plus,

they deployed Oracle's i-Supplier to connect suppliers, Siebel CRM, and Oracle

BI.

The ERP suite automated most of the company's core business processes, including

purchasing, inventory, sales order management, accounts payable, general ledger,

fixed assets and cash management modules. The Siebel CRM took care of

opportunities, quotes, trade promotions, pricing, and sales order processing.

The BI tool had two parts, a daily BI tool for financial and procurement

analysis, and an enterprise edition for sales analytics, dashboards, and

reporting. Benefits observed within one year of implementation were reduction in

the leakage of discounts delivery by 0.5% of turnover and also reduction in the

physical v/s Cardex Stocks variance by 2%. The percentages may look low, but the

total saving they contributed were sufficient to cover the entire investment

that was made.
