The Problem: With different vendors sharing various engineering drawings, BORL was finding it extremely difficult to manage the data input and share it accordingly with different departments like civil, Mechanical, electrical Project departments, operations, maintenance and various planning departments.
It was a herculean task to find the correct data or the latest updated drawings to compare technical specifications provided. A system was needed to overcome the process of comparing and managing each department's specifications. The time consumed was counterproductive and a solution to integrate the process to make it error and redundancy free had to be put in place.
The Solution: Bentley Project wise v 8i Administrator along with Bentley Select Server was implemented to overcome the initial challenges.
The Result: Bentley ProjectWise has provided BORL with an engineering document management and review system which will enable BORL Projects teams to search and retrieve documents and drawings in a much more efficient manner as well as reduce project risk with a single source of truth for all project information.
