The Problem: The enterprise felt the need for cost effective converged communications between its office locations of Bina, Vadinar , Noida and Mumbai. Bina is a very remote location and establishment of traditional voice communication was a big challenge.

Expensive equipments were required and initial start up PBX cost was huge.

The Solution: Cisco Unified Communications Manager along with Unified MeetingPlace Express, Unity Express, and Unified Operations Manager were implemented. Voice router was integrated with BSNL PRI lines for PSTN connectivity which in addition to VoIP for closed group helped the employees to make local, STD and ISD calls at lower costs.

Analog telephone adaptors (ATAs) were also used with flameproof analogue phones to provide voice connectivity to areas in the refinery where only flame proof equipments could be used.

The Result: The implementation brought in increased flexibility and

low maintenance cost as compared to circuitries and phone lines.

Since internal calls are over WAN,

it reduced company's monthly telecom bill.
