BlackBerry has informed that unlike its native BBM on BlackBerry devices, the BBM app on Android and iOS will miss out on some features that will remain BlackBerry-devices exclusive.

As previously indicated, the BBM app will enable users to customize their profile with picture, status and other stuff. Also, one can connect with contacts on the app via a unique PIN, which has been BBM's signature way of adding and finding contacts to their chat list. The app will allow users across iOS, Android and BlackBerry OS to share files, photos and other content. One can also broadcast messages that will be made available to the BBM contacts on your list instantly.

The BBM app for Android will be compatible with devices running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean versions starting at 4:30 in the evening this Saturday. Users on iOS 6 and iOS 7 will be able to download their BBM app from app store from 12:01 AM on Sunday.
