New Update

ASP.NET 2.0 Beta was recently released and has many enhancements over v1.1. This book looks at these and contains sample code in both VB and C#. Complex topics are covered over 15 chapters in a very easy to understand manner, although it assumes you have worked with earlier versions of ASP.NET. The author starts with an overview of working with the new Visual Studio IDE and using it to improve your apps. All aspects of ASP.NET development are covered in depth, for instance how to use either IIS or the new Visual Studio.NET's built-in Web server to host our applications. The book also explains new ways to compile code using .NET 2.0. New database interaction paradigms, navigational features and SQL cache invalidation also find exhaustive treatment.

The Bottom Line: A good book for those who want to learn ASP.NET 2.0. However, you should have some prior knowledge of ASP.NET 1.0 or 1.1 to understand some key concepts of those versions that have been carried over.
