This book is for all those people who want to learn JavaScript from basics- it starts with the fundamental programming concepts, explains how to structure your code, data and data types, etc. It introduces you to JavaScript, its advantages, why to use it, and the tools available for using it. Everything is broken up into easy-to-read chapters. For instance, the second chapter covers all data types, while decisions, loops and functions are covered in the fourth chapter. It gets into live applications such as how to program the Web browser, and how to create HTML forms using JavaScript. Windows and frames section are clearly explained and as you move forward, the book gets more advanced, covering things such as working with date, time, common mistakes, debugging, error handling and storing information with cookies. With XML gaining popularity, it's devoted two chapters to using JavaScript with XML. Towards the latter half, the book moves from client side to server side scripting. 

The bottom line: A good book for those who want to start learning JavaScript.
