Bose SIE 2 and SIE 2i Sport Headphones: Fit music for a fit me!

I am not into sports or heavy exercising, but I love my morning walks. I enjoy brisk walking every morning, covering around 3-5 kms. I have several headphones (in-ear ones) and they all sound very good. But one problem that I face with all of them is that they tend to displace/come out while walking. As a result, the quality of music during my daily walk varies and I have to keep adjusting the headphones. So when I learnt that labs have the sports headphones, I was keen to try them out.

Bose claims that SIE2 and SIE2i are the first set of Bose headphones, specifically engineered for exercise. They offer a unique combination of sweat and weather resistance, comfortable secure fit and Bose quality sound.
Bose's sports focus was visible right when I opened the box. It comes with a Reebok fitness armband to hold your iphone/ ipod (but not iphone 5 or ipod 5th gen). The headphone's cable was short; just the right length to use with the arm band. It also had an extender cable and their proprietary StayHearTM ear tips in few sizes. The tips have a new design. There is an inline remote and microphone included with the SIE2i model.

I wore the SIE2 on my first walk. I did not use the armband, instead went for the cable extender. The in-ear fit was excellent. The mid and high frequency reproduction of these headphones is beautiful. But what made me fall in love with them is the even sound delivery throughout the walk. At no stage, irrespective of my speed, did the sound quality change. I guess this is made possible by the unique design and the material used for the ear tips. The ear tips are so comfortable that you just do not feel them at all. Also, they are not noise-isolating, which I feel is a plus. It is good to be able to hear oncoming traffic, when I am out walking on the road.

Having said that, I was not impressed with the low-frequency reproduction of this ear-phone. Yes, it is tight, but not as good as few others that I have experienced. At the same time though, the sound stage set by these ear-phones is excellent, and more than makes up for any shortcomings.Another plus is that the sound is so remarkably detailed, that it may just help you discover a new instrument or a whole new beat in your favorite song that you have been listening to since years. The comfort and fit offered by these headphones, makes them the best sounding headphones for people with an active lifestyle. If you like to walk, jog or exercise and love your music, go get these headphones. Also, for those who have never liked in-ear headphones, I recommend you try them out. You will be pleasantly surprised with the package.
