New Update

Like the other two Canon printers we have reviewed this time, this one also supports a maximum resolution of 4800X1200 dpi, and can print droplets as small as 2 pico-liters. While one would expect a photo printer of this cost to have a flash memory slot and possibly an LCD panel for directly taking prints, this one doesn’t have any of those features. But what it does give is great print quality and zippy prints. The printer has a rated maximum mono print speed of 22

ppm.

The printer printed at the rate of 11 ppm in draft mode and around 9 ppm in standard mode in our tests, which is fast for a bubble jet. Surprisingly however, it took a little more time to print a full sized A4 borderless image than the i550 printer. It gave a print speed of around 8 ppm while printing an A4 text document with a small color graphic image. The best thing we found was when we printed borderless graphic on a full page A4 glossy photo paper, it took just 110 secs to deliver, which is fairly close to its rated speed. Not only that, the print quality was also excellent.

Overall, it’s a great printer if you’re looking for good quality prints. Other features remain the same, like four separate ink cartridges for CMYK colors.
