Gaming Studio CD Projekt Red has officially announced the remake of the Original 'The Witcher Game'. The gaming studio officially named it The Witcher Remake after announcing it. It had earlier produced titles like Cyberpunk 2077. The first game that started The Witcher series was released by CD Projekt Red in 2007 and was only available for PC players.

At the beginning of this month, CD Projekt Red shared its plans for multiple projects the studio is currently working on, which included multiple upcoming projects for Cyberpunk 2077, a completely new IP and five games for The Witcher series.

The project with the codename “Canis Majoris” was originally The Witcher Remake and will be a different game from the Witcher 4 series which was also announced earlier by the studio. The Witcher 4 series will start a new Witcher trilogy that will have a different protagonist and will include a multiplayer mode, along with the classic single-player campaign.

  • CD Projekt Red has announced the final release date of the upcoming Witcher title -- The Witcher Remake.
  • However, the game is still in its early development stage and the first footage might release after a while.
  • The Witcher Remake is being developed by a third-party studio named Fool’s Theory and the game’s creation also includes assistance from former CDPR members who also are The Witcher veterans.
  • CD Projekt Red will also offer full creative supervision over the upcoming remake.
  • The upcoming game will have the same protagonist and storyline but will be rebuilt from the scratch using Unreal Engine 5.

    This game engine is developed by Fortnite creators Epic Games.

“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red. It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then.” Badowski has not only praised the crew working on The Witcher Remake but has also reassured fans that the team “know the source material well," said Adam Badowski CD Projekt Red’s Head of Studio.
