Since we introduced this category, Nokia has been winning by a wide margin. This year is no exception. Surprisingly, Motorola moves up from number four to number two this year. Sony drops out, and Samsung, which has been very aggressive in the market (but playing in the upper price bands) makes its entry.

Many respondents, particularly in the West, voted for their service provider, instead of a cellphone brand; cross-checking indicates that these indicate a preference for the bundling schemes of the service providers.
