New Update

At Chhattisgarh State Power Companies Limited (CSPCL), there was no

centralized antivirus solution for the desktops and servers. No centralized

directory service was present using which the systems could be controlled and

restrictions could be put in place. The mail gateway was unprotected as there

was no gateway mail scanning solution in place. There was no mechanism to

restrict spam and virus e-mails from flowing in and out of our domain. There was

also no centralized patch management solution in place. The internet traffic was

unregulated and all users had unrestricted access to internet.

This CANS (Computer And Network Security) project was intended to implement and

secure the devices and IT infrastructure of the company. The components covered

under this project relate to gateway security, endpoint security and managed

security services. The gateway security, was implemented to provide a secure

Internet access and effectively utilize the resources of the organization for

the benefit and development of the users and the organization. To ensure secured

IT infrastructure and effective ROI the CISCO NAC solution was implemented which

enforces the security policy into the end-points so that no single device can be

a part of the data LAN unless the same is clean and updated. All security

policies and devices which are implemented are quite effective and efficient.
