Computex 2014: Acer and Intel Join Hands for Atom Based Iconia Tablet

Acer is the next big company to team up with Intel to power its latest range of Iconia tablets. This arrangement will make its appearance via Iconia Tab 8 devices that will be powered by Intel's low-power Atom chipset. 

The Iconia Tab 8 tablet will be reaching markets in the third quarter. The tablet sports an 8-inch full-HD display, packs a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. According to the company, Iconia Tab 8 comes with video-playback back-up of up to 7.5 hours 

Acer is continuously looking to diversify itself in the market by catering to segments are in fashion currently. Earlier this year, Acer entered the highly populated smartwatch segment with Liquid Leap to seek out some space in the ever-evolving wearable arena. Liquid Leap functions by pairing up with various Android smartphone, including Acer's Liquid Jade smartphone that will also be making its way into countries later this year. The tablet is expected to priced starting from 199 euros ($270).
