Coronavirus

India is starting with the largest vaccination drive on May 1, 2021. This is to ensure that every adult in the country gets vaccinated and can develop antibodies for fighting the deadly Coronavirus. This can be considered the biggest fight against the virus, but there is one slight challenge in the way.

People need to register on the CoWin app which is designed by the Government of India for vaccine registration. The app is facing very high load and is crashing repeatedly. The OTP needed for registration is not being received by people even after numerous attempts. It is best to try registering on the website rather than relying on the app.

Even the Aarogya Setu app which is the official Covid-19 monitoring app, is crashing. People have raised multiple concerns about the app, but the app never crashed like this before. This can create a sense of panic among the people who want to register for the vaccine and get done with it as soon as possible to ensure some level of safety.

Even though the government has approved vaccination for everyone above the age of 18 years, the CoWin app is not letting anyone below the age of 45 register for the vaccine. The app requires Aadhaar card number for registration and is not letting anyone below the age of 45 register.

Reports from ANI also state that the vaccination drive might not start from May 1, 2021 because not all hospitals and health care centres are on board and this might delay the process. The registration that opened on April 28, 2021 might be a test run to determine the traffic and load the app might face. Clear reports on the authenticity of the registrations are yet to come, but it is best to keep checking the status on the app.

It is best to keep trying and register for the vaccine.  Stay safe.
