When you install Eucalyptus using the Faststart CD, it installs a default CentOS 6 image for you to play around with. These images are essentially OS templates that can be used to boot new machines in your Eucalyptus cloud. You can boot new machines with this image and connect to them and start using them immediately after your Cloud is installed. Before we go ahead, here is a quick guide on how to start a new machine with the default CentOS image.

To begin, open the link https://<Your_Cloud_controller_ip:8888 and login with the default username and password you provided at the time of setting it up. Most probably the “Account Name” will be eucalyptus.
Once you login to the interface, you will see the following screen:
