Dell launches Venue 7 and Venue 8 Intel powered Tablets

Dell is set to unleash its Venue range of tablets for both personal and enterprise users in the country. The Venue tablets were first announced globally last year and priced competitively starting at $149. Contrary to the reports of a December launch in the country, the company decided to wait till the beginning of 2014.

The Venue 7 and Venue 8 sports 7 inch and 8 inch 1280x800 pixels display running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It packs a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Clover Trail chipset along with 2 GB RAM. The 7 incher gets 16 GB internal memory, while the 8 incher comes in two 16/32 GB models and both will be expandable further via microSD slot.

In terms of cameras, the Venue 7 and Venue 8 come fitted with VGA front, 3 MP rear and 2 MP front, 5 MP rear respectively. Dell is offering a 4,100 mAh battery with both these tablets that is expected to last up to 8 to 10 hours during normal usage according to the company.

In terms of connectivity, the Venue 7 gets all basic options minus 3G which should have been included, whereas Venue 8 gets all the connectivity goodies including 3G support.

Dell has priced the Venue 7 at Rs 10,999 and Venue 8 will be selling in the country for Rs 17,499.
