New Update

In past, we have reviewed different products from Dextrosoft like USB Boot

Maker, Data Undeleter, etc. Now they have introduced a product that lets you

delete disks or the partitions permanently. So, what comes to mind immediately

is that what's unique about it now? Is it really effective and when we talk of

deleting them permanently, why not simply format them?

Well, this product allows you to delete the partitions or the disks using 15

different methods or grades. These grades comprise of Super Fast Zero Write,

Zero Write, Random Write, Old US Department of Defense, Old NSA, Bit Toggle and

Peter Gutmann Secure Deletion, etc. For instance if you delete the disk using

the Peter Gutmann method, then it will overwrite the target data area by writing

random values four times, fixed values 27 times & then random values 4 times.

The lower grades are faster than the higher grades and are less reliable, but

the higher ones are more secure. The USB can run on Windows as well as Linux

platforms and you can either simply boot from it by changing the settings in the

BIOS or run the application directly.

We tested this solution on an 80 GB Maxtor HDD that contained 4GB data. After

complete deletion of the data, where we used Zero-Write method, we tried

recovering it, to test its effectiveness. The great thing here is that we used

at least three recovery solutions and the results were great as they failed to

find anything.
