Enterprise Resource Planning is a software with service oriented architecture

to enhance efficiency of organization as it enables better utilization of

resources. Such software have modular design that enable companies to

reconfigure or add modules in future. Considering these features and business

benefits, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd implemented following modules of Microsoft

Dynamic NAV: financial Management (Basic Finance and Fixed Assets), Purchase &

Payable, Sales & Receivable, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Web Portal,

and Business Intelligence. This implementation made real time sales and

inventory data available across country. Plus automatic SMS/ email alerts were

also made available to customers and sales team about dispatches and cheque

receipt and bounce.

Key challenges while implementing this project were typical requirements of a

pesticide industry like complex schemes and credit notes. One of the technical

challenge was complex customization in Automatic Credit note where formulae were

defined in Excel. Here data is flushed to Excel and after calculation in Excel

the same is flushed back to Dynamics NAV for creation of Credit Note.

Implementation of ERP package has resulted in positive effects on top and bottom

line of company, better planning, enhanced productivity of manpower, and better

growth of organization.
