D G-PS1010U is a compact device (mouse sized) that can turn your USB 2.0 printer into a network printer. So if you are worried about the printing process in your office which has a USB printer attached to a computer that does nothing but takes prints, then this is clearly a case of IT resource wastage. So, instead of investing in new network printer one can buy this device and use existing printers as network printers. The device is extremely simple to setup. Simply connect a USB cable from the printer to this server and then connect Ethernet cable from this device to your office network. Next run a setup wizard and you are done. The setup would not only configure the printer but also install a utility named ‘PSAdmin’ for managing device name, MAC addresses, print server name, firmware version, and status of different printers on the network. Other features of DG-PS1010U include support for all the major protocols like SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), IPP (Internet Printing Protocol), and HP Web JetAdmin for remote print management. It also provides Email alerts, so you never miss out on important tasks.

Bottomline: You can save costs associated with installing and maintaining a new network printer by using this converter on your existing non-networked printers.
