Break pages…

When printing an Excel file, it’s difficult to tell where a page will break. So, often you end up firing more than one print before you get what you want. You can enable a feature that automatically shows page breaks in the form of dotted lines. Go to Tools, Options, View and under the Windows options enable Page breaks and press OK.

…and text

How do you break a cell entry into separate lines? You must have tried to press Enter and landed up in the cell beneath. What you should do is to take your cursor to where you want a new line to start and press Alt+Enter. This will increase the height of the row and accommodate your entry.

Zoom-in, zoom out

Ever wondered how you can see the other pages of an Excel file when you’re in Print Preview? Use the arrow keys when you’re zoomed out, and Page Up and Page Down when you’re zoomed in.

See only what you must

You may want too see only the area that you’re currently working on and not rest of the Excel sheet. To do so select the area you want to see. Then on the Toolbar go to the drop-down from where you can zoom in or out, and choose Selection. To undo, go back to the zoom display and choose the percentage of zoom you want.

Squeeze content

You fire a print in Excel and end up with reams of printed paper. You can print your matter on a specified number of pages by going to File and Page Setup. Under the Page tab, specify the number of pages wide and the number of pages tall you would like and click OK. Excel compresses your entries to fit them on as many pages as you require.

See all. Print all

You can see and print not only the values of cells, but also Excel formulae. To see the formulae, go to Tools, Options and View. Here under the Window options, check Formulas and click OK. Print from the File menu. But, this works only for the current worksheet.
