EMC Corp: Saksham eGov Solution xCelerator

Functionality & Features: EMC's eGov solution digitizes case management in government agencies. It converts manual processes in government entities into digital versions, where digital process such as form-filling mimics the manual process almost exactly. The UI of the process can be customized according to the organization.

Technology used: EMC's documentum xCP platform, Java. Other technologies that have been adopted in this project include ECM (Enterprise Content Mgmt), BPM (Business Process Mgmt), business analytics, and content transformation.

USP: While other solutions don't offer customization, eGov solution offers complete customization of business processes without need for much coding.

Impact: Can help government agencies abandon archaic manual process and improve turnover time dramatically

The jury agreed that such a system can help improve efficiency of govt. agencies. It will help the government offer better and faster services to its citizens and better G2G workflows can be established. Transparency within and among the departments is established and added security, makes compliance easier. All this is done without disrupting the familiar workflow of government agencies — and this is a big impact.
