Two contestants in this segment are pretty obvious-Exchange and Lotus Domino,
but the third contestant is not. Last year, it was Linux based messaging, but
this year the third spot has been taken by Sifym@il.
Exchange once again remains the most future ready brand. While its brand
persuasion score has declined over last year, it remains at the number two spot
this year on the same index. Exchange has improved its brand pull considerably
over last year, and in fact commands the highest brand pull. More CIOs said
they're likely to switch into the brand than switch out. MS Exchange has managed
to improve brand loyalty amongst its customers from 60% last year to 67% this
year. Those likely to switch out continue to remain at a low 2%. 31% of the
existing Exchange users however, were not sure which other brand to switch to.
Lotus Notes/Domino is the second most future ready brand, but it's far behind
Exchange. If Exchange is moving at a speed of 100, then Notes is moving at 40.
It has also lost a few points on the brand persuasion index from being number
one last year to three this year. In absolute terms however, it is gaining. Its
brand pull situation has improved considerably over last year. This year, it has
more CIOs switching in than out, which is reverse of last year. The brand has
also gained more brand loyalty amongst its existing users.
Sifym@il is moving at a speed of 28, and is the most persuasive brand of the
lot.
