Looking for a personal laser printer for your small network? Check out the EPL-5800L. It prints at 10 ppm with a maximum resolution of 600 dpi, which can be enhanced to 1200 dpi from its drivers. The printer is not network ready, but you can share it on the network through windows file and printer sharing. If your network printing needs rise, you can upgrade its default memory capacity of 2 MB
to 13 MB with any ordinary EDO RAM.

You can print 6,000 pages with the toner cartridge, and the photoconductor unit lasts for about 20,000 pages. The status monitor helps you gauge the amount of toner and paper and the photoconductor unit’s status. The driver lets you check the layout of multiple pages before you print. Thicker media such as transparencies and envelopes have to be manually fed.
The default input tray can hold 150 sheets, and another with 500 sheet capacity can be added for an additional Rs 5,000.

There are dust covers on top of the trays. The printer has both parallel and USB interfaces, and is compatible with Windows 9x/Me/NT 4.0/2000, and Mac OS 8.1 or later. It has a one-year onsite warranty period, which can be extended to three years for Rs 3,500 extra. Price: Printer: Rs 21,900; Toner: Rs 4,500.
