New Update

This is an entry-level MFD from Epson, supporting printing, scanning and copying. Settings to copy a document can be adjusted through the buttons on control panel; you can take maximum three copies at a time. Epson Scan Tool Light software, which is given on the driver CD, can be used to scan images in color, grayscale or black and white to get professional quality results. The printer supports five printing modes: Draft, Text, Text and Image, Photo and Photo RPM. It uses only two cartridges, black and color, so if any color runs out then you will have to replace the entire cartridge. It can print at a resolution of up to 2880 dpi and scan at 600 dpi, but you have the option to change it from 75dpi to 19200dpi. The rated speed of the printer is 12 PPM and for copier it is 10 CPM. Testing part of the printer was average. The MFD performed well in quality tests but not in speed tests. We got decent photo prints but it took 17 mins to print while selecting photo mode. Printing speed was also quite low giving 6 ppm as against its rated speed of 12 ppm, but that seems to be a norm with most inkjet printers. The copier copied a document of A4 size in 36 secs. We scanned a full-page color image at 300 dpi, which it scanned in 36

secs.

The Bottom Line: You can buy this MFP if you need printer, copier and scanner in one box and at a very affordable price.
