Epson Stylus Pro 7000

The Stylus Pro 7000 is a large format printer from Epson, it

can print on media with a maximum width of 24’ and a length of about 200 feet.

It’s meant for printing banners, posters, either for in-store display,

proofing, or even presentations.

The printer has six different color cartridges: Cyan,

Magenta, Yellow, Black, (CMYK), Light Cyan, and Light Magenta. Each cartridge

has a capacity of 110 ml and is linked to a separate print head (with a capacity

of about 5 ml) through ink tubes. The printer will not work if any of these

colors are absent.

Printing at a resolution of 1,440x720 dpi, it has a rated

speed of five square meters in an hour. The cost of printing one square foot is

about Rs 17 (excluding the paper cost). The ink drying speed of the printer is

about 0.01 seconds, which prevents smudging. It can print on a wide variety of

media, such as presentation matte paper, glossy photo paper, adhesive paper, and

poster board. The printer comes with both auto and manual paper cutters.

The printer has both parallel and USB connectivity. It also

comes with an optional Ethernet connection (10/100 Mbps) for connecting to a

network. It supports TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, Apple Talk, DEC LAT, NetBEUI, and DLC/LLC

protocols.

The printer is priced at Rs 3,20,000, with each color

cartridge costing about Rs 2,800.
