Essar Group - Seamless Cisco Secured Wireless Network

The Problem: The problem of users or guests not having Secure Guest Access on WiFi within office locations is still a concern for most enterprises. Essar also lacked seamless access to secured WiFi connection as no uniform security framework was created by them.

The Solution: In collaboration with Cisco, Essar has established centralized certificate using CA server. Three WLAN controllers were installed at Mahalaxmi, Kurla & Hazira and are directly connected with location's core switch. Users can access WiFi through a single sign-on domain ID. Now, Essar has a certificate-based security framework, which allows token based centralized secure guest registration and is integrated with handheld devices like Active Directory, Laptop, BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, Tablet and Avaya flare device.

The Result: The implementation has benefited Essar by saving time and money, utilising resources better, allowing centralised management, ensuring separation of traffic, providing simple admin for guest accounts with high security and instant connectivity.
