Essar Group - Websense Web and Data Security Implementation

The Problem: Essar didn't have a proper mechanism to filter confidential data and prevent its leakage across various channels like email, web, endpoint, etc. This compelled them to resort to send encrypted mail, which was not sufficient.

The Solution: The company installed Websense Web Security Gateway V10k appliance in active-active mode for web caching & content filtering at four major locations with a centralized reporting Server to combine all Internet access logs. Websense Remote Filtering is installed in active-passive mode in DMZ segment to apply Websense Internet policy from anywhere & anytime. Websense DLP is implemented in monitoring mode to monitor email, web and endpoint data leakage channels.

The Result: The solution has increased employee productivity and reduced network bandwidth by blocking non-business related websites. It has curtailed security threats like botnets, phishing, security and legal liability risks. It stops malware at the network edge, thereby preventing it from reaching the endpoints. With DLP, the management can monitor and manage all data going out of the company's network.
