Facebook Gaming has been gaining a lot of traction in the gaming and live streaming community. Each day more gamers are joining the platform to Livestream and gain a new audience. Since Facebook gaming is relatively new compared to Twitch and Youtube there is less competition on the platform. Less competition means most small streamers have a higher chance of getting noticed by the viewers. Also, since most big creators on the platform have migrated from either twitch or youtube they don’t have a huge audience on the platform yet. Streamers like Carry Minati are averaging around 300 to 500 viewers on Facebook Gaming while on Youtube their Livestream will get thousands of viewers. This means that if you start streaming on Facebook gaming now then there is a higher chance of you getting viewers than a big streamer from Youtube or twitch.

One of the big reasons new streamers should join Facebook Gaming is due to discoverability. Facebook gaming is a part of the Facebook ecosystem. Also, Facebook is the social media platform that has the highest amount of users. It has potentially more users than Youtube and Twitch. More users are a potential audience that will come across your streams. It is easier to get discovered on Facebook Gaming than on platforms like youtube since Facebook actually promotes streams to its users. For example, let’s say you are streaming Fortnite on Facebook gaming. You can promote your stream on different Fortnite pages on Facebook and Facebook itself will promote your stream to people who are in your friend list, people who are following you, and people who follow Fortnite. That is a huge pool of viewers for a new streamer.

It is easier to break through on Facebook Gaming and become a creator. We did an experiment where we created a Facebook Page and streamed Call of Duty Mobile with 0 followers. By just adding a catchy title and sharing it at a few places we got over 200 viewers on our third stream. The videos themselves got over 2,000 views in a few days. That is the exposure that no other big streaming platform is offering right now.

One of the most underrated aspects of Facebook Gaming is the community factor. Since Facebook already has an active user base of people from all over the world there is a sense of community on the platform. Especially through Facebook pages and groups. Gamers engage with each other in these groups which is another way for new content creators to promote themselves.

It is fairly easy to go live on Facebook Gaming. Just create a page on Facebook and follow the steps given. Even the creator center which is Facebook’s version of Youtube studio is very comprehensive and easy to understand. There is also a Facebook gaming app on Android that will also let you stream from your smartphone.
