WhatsApp and Instagram faced similar issues with logging in and sending and receiving messages earlier this year on March 19. The messaging and photo-sharing app faced mass outages in India and other parts of the world. Twitter has a lot to say about this outage. The platform is of the common opinion that Twitter is a more viable option for social networking.
The mass outages from March has people struggling to log in or using the messaging services of WhatsApp and Instagram. Facebook Inc. had said its services were being affected by a number of issues. Nearly a million people across the world had reported problems with its photo-sharing app Instagram.
Experts have reported it as a DNS problem. Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram users are also reporting issues in the UK, among other parts of the world. As per Downdetector, the first reported outage of WhatsApp was at 8:39 pm. For Facebook, it mentions the first report as 8:54 pm.
Speaking of the reported outages, Facebook has released an initial statement. A Facebook spokesperson said, "We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
