New Update

Apple announced CarPlay, which is souped-up version of iOS in car, a system which will transform your automoblie's in car entertainment system into iOS powered dashboard. Car Play will switch vehicles into iPhone app-enabled accessories. CarPlay system was unveiled by Apple in Geneva Motor Show, where associates like Ferrari, Mercedes, Volvo all declared that they would start delivering CarPlay enabled automobiles this year.

The system will work only with devices having Lightning port Connector, means only compatible with iPhone5, 5S, and 5C. CarPlay allows you to exchange features like Siri, iTunes, messages to your automobile's dash board and also allows you to make hands-free voice calls.

Until now, it's apparent that fantastic app for any in car system is navigation and routing. And while Apple's app has greatly increased over the years and now with the integration of Maps, Apple will have a probability to force its own service of maps, which will be competitive advantage over currently running services like Google Maps, and will help Apple enhance user experience. To work with any of these functions simply tap on your automobile's touch screen display just like you do on an iPhone.

Though Ford's is currently using SYNC its own in car app, developed to provide hand-free calling, reading text messages, play music etc, it's too early to figure out how well Apple's CarPlay system will turn out over the years, but meanwhile CarPlay looks eye-catching and refreshing. Other automobile's manufacturers that will include CarPlay later this year are BMW, Toyota, Honda etc.
