Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 is out with some big changes

Yesterday, a black hole swallowed the world of Fortnite, leaving fans and players smack dab in the middle of nothing. There was nothing to do for players, except to stare at the screen with a black hole. That marked the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2, and boy have they really changed things up.

The official Epic website says to drop in and discover the changes for yourself. Some big changes have been discovered, but the Fortnite Chapter 2 has been out for only a few hours, so expect more. But we do know a few new things.

The new map, well, it’s greyed out. They really are going hard with the whole discover yourself thing. The map begins to reveal itself once you traverse through the areas. And you might discover water bodies in which you can swim. And it is going to be a big part of it since the game now has boats as well. With water bodies also come fish and fishing, though in this case, you will be fishing for guns.

Speaking of guns, now they are upgradable with various materials found around the map. So this will take out unpredictability and RNG from the game to some extent.

There are also new teamwork mechanics added to Fortnite Chapter 2. You will now be able to carry your downed teammate to safety. You will also be able to help your teammates with a support bazooka, which heals your allies when you shoot them with it.

There are also new interactive environmental elements added to the game as well. There are haystacks, dumpsters and barrels in which the players can hide and also explosive barrels which can be shot to deal damage.

The game also has new default skins, albeit the characters will remain the same. New UI and better graphics were also added as a part of Fortnite Chapter 2.
