In Fortnite one of the most critical things that you need to win fights is game sense. An essential aspect of game sense is being able to confuse your enemy. As long as you can keep your opponent guessing then they're gonna be left clueless and you're gonna have an easy time really outplaying them. So to help you guys out we went ahead and compiled some incredible building techniques designed to confuse your opponents.

#1 Low Ground Ramp

You can use this technique in Fortnite to sneak in a shot on anybody attacking your box from above. To set this up you want a position near the middle of your box. Just around the point where only your head is sticking through your stairs before you place them. If you're in the correct spot your ramp should turn yellow and phase when built allowing you to shoot and edit through it.

What's great about this technique is that the stairs are still visually there so plenty of players won't see you clearly. If they're attacking from above they really won't see any sort of retaliation coming. Once you get your shot off and you want to stop phasing, you'll have two options. Either walk forward to end up underneath or jump backward and you're going to end up on top of your ramp.

You can also do this trick with the cone. While it will be more challenging to pull off it just might confuse your opponent even more. All you have to do is edit your cone into a ramp that goes above you. Then you walk forward a bit towards the middle and switch the cone edit to a forward-facing ramp. This should phase you just like a typical ramp would.

#2 Cone Reversal

The cone reversal in Fortnite is really confusing and especially useful when taking walls. So with this one what you need to do is take a wall edit it open and then immediately cone. Pretty standard stuff but when you want to confuse your opponents you need to take it a step forward by editing the two closest tiles of that cone. Then as you run up towards your opponent, open the edit and resets the cone. Then selects the two front tiles before confirming which flips the edit and allows access to the enemy. The only time this technique might not be as beneficial is if traps are added back to the game or if your opponent holds their shotgun out and just waits patiently. Most players however are hasty and have no patience. They will probably just end up panicking.

#3 Fake Top Exit

So this next technique for Fortnite we will have you fake exiting out the top of your box only to actually strike from a wall edit. If someone is attacking your wall, you can just juke them into thinking you're about to exit out the top of your box by editing your cone into a ramp and then performing a floor edit. However, instead of following through and exiting out the top, you reset your cone and immediately edit open your wall for a shot.

Since most players are instantly going to just fixate on you exiting out once they hear both your cone and floor get edited. However, if you're not the most mechanically skilled you might have a little trouble with this method. You can also fake exit out the side which is even more useful when players are trapped inside your box with you.

#4 Side Jump Counter

We all know about side jumping in Fortnite by now but we have improved it far more. To pull this off in Fortnite you need to put up walls around yourself for protection from the impending jump shot. Once you know which direction your opponent is jumping you edit the middle window and places the ramp and then reverse the ramp all in one swift motion. The walls will block the shot while the ramp prevents your opponent from ramping up themselves. While it is demanding and you've got to know you know how to build and edit fast and perform it effectively, it is still one of the better counters for side jumps in general. We definitely recommend heading into creative and just running a few drills so you can just you know do it in the real match.

Alright, guys so that's gonna be it for today's Fortnite Game Guide. Hopefully, you guys learned a lot when it comes to confusing enemies with build techniques.
